There emerged an unlikely Hero

Child is the father of man. My ten year old son came home the other day and the first words that came from his mouth were “Today, there emerged an unlikely Hero”. Now, if these words coming out from anyone’s mouth, let alone that of a ten year old, don’t hold your attention then nothing will. I sat up straight and waited for something interesting and I wasn’t disappointed. It’s not everyday that your ten year old can school you about life. “I didn’t think Charlie had it in him, he has always been an unremarkable student and has never really stood out in class. But today he showed me how to play checkers and he was really an expert. Taught me a trick or two and I don’t think we can write-off people so easily.”
